River Run is a labor of love that was nearly completed way, way, way back in 1996. It never got properly released, and lay around on shelves, hard drives, SSDs, clouds, and paper for decades.

Over the years, I made several serious attempt to resurrect and finish the project, brutally fighting a relentless gauntlet of obstacles as I dragged code from a forgotten language of the ancient past to the closest thing I could find in the modern world.

Moving forward, I plan on remastering this game with higher res graphics, but for now I've purposefully left 99% of the artwork, sound, and music the same as I envisioned when we were sweating bullets just to shove 64K pixels through the CPU fast enough.

If you grew up in the 80s or 90s and notice something eerily familiar, you're not a weirdo. This was originally intended as an unofficial enhanced remake of the Atari 2600 game River Raid.

I hope you enjoy it and find it peculiarly fun.
